I am a young African American male, a high school graduate of the class of 2011 in Wadena Minnesota. I designed this website and event in hopes to bring the local community together. Sports are an important part of any community and the Cookout Grillout Ballout is an excellent place to play ball, get involved and give back to your community.

Growing up, I was involved in many different activities and after school prograjms. Like choir, band, church, piano and sports. Many of which I wasn’t always a willing participant. But I have always loved sports, competitions, and the way they seem to bring the best out of people. I enjoy the competitive banter, undeniable theater, and unbelievable intensity that sports provide.

After being placed in foster care at a young age and separated from my family,

basketball was always there for me as a kid and I enjoyed playing as much as possible. And I believe it can be a great tool for others as well.

I’ve had many different experiences in life, but basketball has always been the best. Whether you are shooting around by yourself or hustling up and down the court with friends or teammates, basketball is a great way to challenge yourself and learn to work as a team. It can also provide stability, instill a hard working mentality, and teach amazing life lessons on teamwork.

The purpose of this event is to bring life back into the community, shine a spotlight on the game of basketball, and raise awareness for kids in the foster care community.
